Dr. Hashimoto is also founder, President and CEO of our parent company MediBIC. Prior to founding MediBic he was a visiting professor at Hokkaido University and he founded Genetic Lab Co, Ltd. He has extensive experience in Pharmaceutical research and was formerly Director of the Institute of Immunology Japan at Syntex and, after the acquisition by Roche, he became the Director of the Biotechnology Department for Roche Bioscience in the U.S.A. Subsequently, he became Director at the Molecular Biology Department and Genomic Research Department of the Immunology Laboratory of GlaxoWellcome (now GSK), responsible for the Global Pharmacogenomics Project. Earlier in his career, Dr. Hashimoto managed R&D as an Associate Professor and Adjunct Professor for 7 years at the University of Pennsylvania following post-graduate studies at Harvard University School of Medicine and he holds an MD degree from Osaka University.
Mr. Zareh is currently Founder and Principal at Paradigm Ventuirers and Managing Director for International Investments at Asia Private Equity Capital (formerly MediBIC Alliance Inc). Until early 2007, he was also Senior Vice President for Business Development at MediBIC Life Sciences (formerly Anexus Pharmaceuticals). He has more than 15 years of experience in the instrumentation, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Following a successful career as a researcher at PDL and Anergen, Mr.Zareh joined PE Applied Biosystems, the leader in genetic analysis and genomic instrumentation, where his last position was Product Manager for Genotyping Systems. Mr. Zareh later joined Gene Logic as Director, Business Development with responsibility for South Asian, Japan and the San Francisco region where he successfully expanded the customer base in these regions. After Gene Logic, Mr. Zareh co-founded and was the Vice President of Business Development at Corimbia, a bioinformatics company. In 2002, he joined MediBic as an advisor and head of US operations with a focus on expanding MediBic's business activities in the US and Europe. Mr. Zareh has a BS from San Francisco State University in Clinical Sciences and did masters work there in Molecular Biology.
